Accountability
Oxbode Housing Association is a charitable organisation and is managed by a voluntary board made up of professionals and community representatives with four places also being reserved on the board for tenants of Oxbode.
Tenants can become members of the association by paying a £1 share. This entitles them to voting rights at the AGM and ultimately the right to become a tenant board member.
There are many ways to become involved with Oxbode Housing Association, please see below for details.
What is Tenant Participation ?
Tenant Participation is about tenants sharing views with their landlord on how to improve the management of homes and the services Oxbode provides. When customers are involved in our work, we can shape the services and procedures we use to meet their needs and aspirations.
We want to make sure that everyone who wants to have a say can do so in a way that suits them. We will listen and respect their views, ensuring that they are fed into the decision making process.
Oxbode provides a variety of methods for tenants to become involved in the work that we do. Please see the File Downloads section / Forms / Pick and Mix form for the many way that you can become involved. Please print this off and return to this office for further information.
Tenants and Residents Associations
Oxbode Housing Association has two active tenants and residents associations working on our estates.
The aims of the associations are:
- To enhance the quality of life in the defined area for all residents
- To promote equal opportunity within the community and to work towards elimination of discrimination within it
- To actively encourage all members of the community to become involved
Associations receive annual funding from Oxbode Housing Association to cover basic running coats like stationery, printing and training. All residents within the areas are welcome to join the meetings and have their say on the areas that they live.

Equal Opportunities
Oxbode Housing Association has a clear commitment to ensuring that in the provision of social housing, a purchaser and provider of services and as an employer, it will seek to ensure equality of opportunity. Oxbode Housing Association has an Equal Opportunities policy that is seen as an overarching statement on our philosophy on our commitment to equality to all groups, and to offering services that are sensitive to diversity and cultural needs.
The Association recognises that in society, groups and individuals have been disadvantaged in the past and as a result of this have not attained equality of opportunity. Therefore Oxbode will seek to ensure that no person or group of persons will be treated less fairly because of their ethnic origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or health.
Both as a provider of social housing and as an employer, Oxbode will abide by the statutory requirements, regulatory requirements and identified best practice.
Harassment
Oxbode Housing Association opposes harassment and is committed to taking immediate and effective action to prevent such acts. Our harassment policy aims to ensure that victims of harassment receive support and the reassurance that the Association will take the necessary action to ensure their safety and security.
All reports of harassment will be taken seriously and staff are expected to take prompt action against the perpetrator. Action can include taking criminal proceedings and/or possession action against known perpetrators. Victims’ wishes will be respected, and support will be offered to enable them to live without fear.
If you think you are suffering harassment, please talk to your housing officer.
